MP3- This audio format was single handedly responsible for bringing digital audio to the PC. Popularity of the MP3 has increased day by day due to smaller file size and and decent quality. DIVX-In terms of video, it perhaps DivX that popularised digital videos on PCs. Although it is hit for video compression but it does not enjoy similar kind of popularity as MP3 does for audio compression.
